The school offers a 5-year maritime engineering course where students study three years in Marseille and two in Nantes.
Students learn how to manage various aspects of installation, operation and decommissioning of offshore systems (marine renewables, oil and gas), and they are also taught about environmental impact and eco-design.
The course includes engineering techniques which enable students to manage complex projects and the associated risks and costs.
The Nantes-based campus works closely with industry so that the course contents are in line with expectations in the field.
Upon completion of the course, students go to work in various engineering positions: consultant engineers for marine renewables developers, certification engineers, decommissioning engineers, offshore operations and maintenance engineers, offshore design engineers, consultant engineers in insurance companies.
“Our site has had a specific maritime engineering curriculum in place since September 2016. It covers marine power with a specialism in marine renewables. We are also putting together short courses and are involved in several research projects relating to power generation and the security and safety of these systems.”
