On the occasion of the Thetis EMR international business fair, visits have been organized to ten sites which are emblematic of the region’s strategy. More than 200 guests have taken part.

From Nantes to Saint-Nazaire, by way of Bouguenais, Bouin, Frossay (Le Carnet) and Montoir-de-Bretagne, lies a rich trail of evidence of the burgeoning marine renewables sector in the Pays de la Loire. Along the way lay factories building the offshore turbines, a coastal test site, and a center for industrial virtual reality.

As part of the 4th edition of Thetis EMR, held in Nantes, the Pays de la Loire’s Regional Agency (Agence régionale Pays de la Loire Territoires d’Innovation) offered four visit programmes, including one in English. In all, ten major sites (businesses, technical sites, testing sites, innovative plant and equipment, and port infrastructure) exceptionally opened their doors for visits on Friday 22 May.

More than 200 professionals from France and further afield, divided into four groups of around 50 people, took part in the visits. An absorbing experience in the new industrial reality at the heartland of France’s marine renewable energies.
