The regional stand

During the last edition of the Seanergy trade fair, the players of the Pays de la Loire turned out in large numbers. Around one hundred of them participated in the event, eleven as co-exhibitors on the regional stand. Joining forces made certainly increased visibility. Testimonials.

On March 22 and 23, Le Havre hosted the second edition of the Seanergy trade fair, dedicated to MRE professionals. More than 130 participants represented the Pays de la Loire as exhibitors, speakers, visitors, or at the BtoB meetings organised by the Entreprise Europe Network which brought together 30 actors from the Pays de la Loire (for 242 meetings, 62 of which were with international players).

The regional stand attracted many visitors, notably with the interactive black box, immersing participants in the industrial reality of MREs in the Pays de la Loire with a series of videos (see the Actors section) . Three of the 11 organisations that shared the stand with the Region stated that they benefited greatly from this showcase.

We usually exhibit at our own stand, as at Thétis 2015, in Nantes. This time, we decided to participate alongside the Region, while fearing a loss of visibility. In fact, it was not the case at all and the test proved to be quite conclusive: we will certainly do this again. The organisation of the regional stand was very professional and so we were able to truly concentrate on welcoming visitors. These events are a great opportunity to talk with our clients and partners about current projects, but also to prepare for the future.

We are extremely positive about Seanergy. Primarily because we won the R&D prize at the fair for our interdisciplinary project called GENOME – Île d’Yeu New Energy Management and Electrical Optimisation, led by researchers Rodica Loisel, Emmanuel Schaeffer and Franck Schoefs. Our presence at the regional stand allowed us to benefit from its attractiveness, in particular from the videos, the presentations of SEM-REV and Floatgen as well as the events organised in collaboration with the Brittany Region. We were also able to take the time to get to know the newer players from the Pays de la Loire as well as to create an international project with a tidal power company. Particularly well positioned, the regional stand was a perfect illustration of the industrial dynamism that can emerge when large companies, SMEs and research laboratories work together to develop a sector that is both a creator of jobs and a main pillar of the energy transition.

For a small organisation like our own, the choice of being at the Region’s stand was obvious. We are the manufacturers of the Sabella tidal turbine and we are also developing tidal turbine foundations for other clients. Participating in Seanergy allowed us to meet many clients and prospects, but moreover potential partners, for example a number of startups who wish to develop in the MRE field. The regional stand was very well designed with a space dedicated to meetings and videos; the Pays de la Loire regional agency team was at our disposal and really listened to us to accompany us as much as possible. Also, I greatly appreciated the relationship between Brittany and Pays de la Loire, a real surprise for me. There is often a spirit of competition between regions but they actually work hand in hand on very real projects. This dynamic is extremely interesting.

A course for FWP Atlantic Forum 2017

The next major event for local MRE actors will be the second edition of the FWP Atlantic Forum, which was a success in 2016. Co-organised by the Brittany and Pays de la Loire Regions and dedicated to the promising sector of floating wind power, the event will take place in Saint-Nazaire and Lorient from October 2 to 4, 2017.
