Tenth maritime economy conference
An important date in the diary for France’s maritime decision-makers—their major maritime economy conference (“les assises de l’économie de la mer”) will take place on the 2 and 3 December 2014. Organised by French weekly Le Marin in partnership with the French maritime business cluster, the meet-up will be landing in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire for the first time.
Over the years the event has become an essential rendezvous for the industry, representing an excellent opportunity for customers and suppliers to meet face-to-face. On the agenda for this tenth edition: two days of conference presentations, round tables and workshops to be held at Nantes’ major conference centre, the Cité de Congrès.
Of national importance, the meeting attracts the largest companies in the maritime sector, along with numerous prominent decision-makers: among them this year will be French prime minister Manuel Valls.
Pride of place for the region
The meeting will be an excellent opportunity for the Pays de la Loire Region to demonstrate the wealth of its maritime tradition, and will open with a round table entitled “The Pays de la Loire: at the heart of maritime France.”
The marine renewable energies will also have a high profile, with a session examining the key drivers of performance for French players in the sector. Proof, if proof were needed, of the marine renewables’ importance in the maritime economy of the future.
